As the main shopper for a family of six, I must shop big and Costco is a weekly trip. This weekend I saw boxes of mangoes from Peru, and as I approached the huge mostly green and red mangoes. They looked just like those beauties on all the trees in San Tome. For a minute, I was transported back to to those times when as a kid, there would be so many mangoes that we would knock down mangoes off trees with the mangoes on the ground just to get the perfect one. I have seen mangoes in grocery stores before, but these were the same kind, and I just had to buy them. My kids loved them so much, they were gone in record time. Maybe they have a little San Tome in them even if they have never been there. When I saw my three year old devour a whole mango I couldn't stop laughing.
