Submitted by: Pat Flanagan Harrell Date: June 27, 2007 Your email address: patharrell@lbtdsl.com The years you were in Venezuela: 1954 to 1964 Year graduated from Staff School: Teacher '54-'57 City and State you live in now: Denver, Colorado Birth Announcements: Passing Announcements: My husband, Bob, passed away April 2006 Your Other News: I have read the newsletter with great pleasure and lots of nostalgia over the past few years. I love the old pictures, too. Almost all my memorabilia from the 10 years in Venezuela was stored at my parents' home while we went on to live in Libya in 1965. Unfortunately, the home burned in 1967 and, along with it, our pictures and other mementos. Those of you who knew Bob will know how devastated he was to lose his favorite hunting rifle and mounted sheep heads in the fire! One of the letters that most touched my memories and heart was the one from Gorgias Garriga who was in one of my first grade classes at the Staff School. He was such a quick learner and so curious about the world around him that I knew he was destined for an exceptional life. I hope he will email me and fill me in on all the intervening years! We spent almost 14 years in Tripoli and had continuing friendships with many former MGO employees there, some of whom we still hear from. Of our three sons, Steve and John are both deceased and Dave lives in this area. He and I are the remaining two of our family and we love sharing the memories of those "olden" days. We'll not attend the reunion this year, but send our love and best regards to all. Pat Harrell
I was looking at another Venezuelan website and came across this one. Its really great. I have copies of our yearbooks from 1958 to 1965. I have an Epson scanner that I can probably download pictures to an email them to you.
I still remember your brother hitting me in the jaw and me stepping on a nail that got stuck in my foot and your dads motorcycle.
I live in Houston now, have been here since I got my MBA at University of Texas. My first job was with Gulf Oil. Lew Ramsey hired me to go work overseas but I got bored and went to Baroid to do acquisitions and somehow ended up owning an insurance agency.
My email is benefitresources@aol.com. Let me hear from you. The class of 59 reunion was in Houston, Texas. Bruce Weaver is married to my sister Debby and they lived in Williamsport, Pennsylvania until he retired from teaching at Lycoming College. They are moving down to Nags Head on the Outer Banks in North Carolina where his son owns a hang gliding school and some tourist shops in Kitty Hawk, NC. His sister Gail lives in Clearwater, Florida.
